Hey there!

Hey there!

I am a game design studient from germany, currently within my fourth semester at HBK Essen. Since I love both games and art, I would have loved to study game design from the very beginning. Unfortunately there was no affordable way for me to do this back then, so I decided to dedicate my future to my second passion besides design - biology! I finished my masters degree in neurobiology and worked in the pharmaceutical industry for about 6 years. Slowly realising, that working creatively is a crucial part of who I am that is not satisfied with leisure time projects, I used the financial indepence I gained to finally professionalise what I did, since I was a kid - design games!

Explore my game prototypes from the
first three Semesters of my Game Art and Design study at HBK Essen.
The first Semester Project was a desktop walking Simulator with autobiographical Elements. The second semester Prototype was a mobile game focussed on mechanics, scripting and animation and the third semester prototype was a VR- and a team project, where I mainly focussed on environmental Design, Worldbuilding and Concept.

My Aim and inspiration

My Aim and inspiration

I want to make games that are fun, while keeping in mind the social responsibility every cultural creator has. No matter how entertaining focussed a game might be, the social structures and characters displayed shape everyone playing, to a certain extend. I don´t see this as a restriction, but as a challenge to generate new and innovative forms of both visual and narrative design, in order to broaden horizons and shape the society of tomorrow.

My favourite games

Since games are our business, you might be curious what kind of games I prefer to play in my leisure time. Basically, there are only two genres I avoid - horror and ego shooter. Besides that I play nearly everything with a lot of joy, from pen and paper formats like DSA or Coriolis, over board- and cardgames like Roots, Gloomhaven and MTG, up to videogames of all sort. I enjoy well written RPG stories as in Baldurs Gate 3 as much as affectionately worked out strategic systems like the one of Stellaris. I also have a soft spot for serious games like the wonderfully designed Endling or good old point and click adventures like Day of the Tentacle or Broken Age.
